ABOUT

Gang 888 is a film about 5 black queer women who create a gang to fight toxic masculinity.

Shot in Johannesburg, South Africa & written and directed by Banzi Mavuso. The film is here to provide a social commentary on the murders of black women and black queer people in South Africa, while also connecting the mass population about the feelings, aspirations and lives of black queer people.

Gang 888 is an enlightening tale about how love, empathy and support can truly heal the world and how violence has it's place in today's society, especially when it comes to women and black queer people protecting themselves.
