When the curtains were drawn on the Musical “District Six” a new day dawned for Mr Omar Adams, better known as Boeta Maantjie, Father of Loukmaan an Emo Adams. Concerned that his sons could possibly be in the overflowing crime existing in Mitchells Plain, he wisely utilized his spare time constructively.

Their talent and potential as entertainers was to be harnessed in the future. His attempt to stage a play he produced with ordinary school kids from disadvantaged households, with much love, care and hard work. He emerged to be one of the most talented Producers and Directors without any formal training.

Mr. Adams started the Drama Group in 1987 at a workshop at his home where the group came to life in his garage. He identified the need of keeping the kids off the streets, he thus used raw talent and moulded them into young artists such as singers, dancers and actors.

These young actors, who all stem from the disadvantaged community of Mitchells Plain, have taken the Cape Flats as well as the broader South Africa, by storm with their own brand of popular theater portraying everyday life. They are talented in role-playing, singing and dancing of which the appropriate songs are selected by Mr Omar Adams. The group grows from strength to strength.

Tours included venues throughout the Western and Eastern Cape, Johannesburg, Gauteng, Kimberley and Bloemfontein.

Many artists who have reached fame today, stems from the hands of Mr Omar Adams and his group Kinders van die Ses (KVDS) such as:

Emo Adams, Loukmaan Adams, Alistair Izobel, Ramaine Barreiro, Sadia Khan, Gavin Roman, Junaid Booysen, Wassef Piekaan, Zakariya Toerien, Paula Harold, Bahia Harold, Riedwaan and Kashiefa Pillay, Mariam and Ebrahim Safodien, Celeste Kienberger, Nicole Carlo Jacobs, Ricardo Dicks, Walter Adonis, Morne and Craig Dullisear, Kashifa Blaauw, Kashifa Galant, Karen Samuels, Fazlin Lee, Zaitoenisa Jacobs, Jonny Kop, Wafeeqa Claasen,Umir Moris Patrick and several other talented actors etc...
