Bio: Shafinaaz Hassim is a sociologist and award-winning author based in South Africa. In 2014, she was listed by UNESCO and the London Book Fair as one of the top 39 writers in Africa under the age of 40. She is the author of various works in gender studies, fiction and poetry as well as the Nisa Qamar series for young adults which has been twice shortlisted for the MAHLA Awards and the prestigious Sanlam Youth Prize for Literature 2019.

Bio: Lisa Bell

Writing romantic fiction since a teen as a way to escape, it has now materialised into a passion and love. Lisa runs a digital and content creation agency during the day and still manages to escape into her fantasy world of words whenever she gets a gap.

Her style of writing is easy-go-to-fantasy. Her first novel, The Shifters, now titled Travellers, followed a 10-year turbulent journey of publishing and marketing faux pas, but she has now found her true niche in the urban fantasy genre. “While Travellers will technically be a republish, in my eyes, it is a new and first novel debut.”

Bio: Sarah Bullen has worked with writers, authors and publishers since 2003 as an international writing coach and literary agent. Her latest book Write your Book in 100 Days: Stop Mucking about and Just Write your Book was released in 2020. 

She has coached writers of novels, poetry books, memoirs, non-fiction, cookbooks and children's books. She is a multi-published non-fiction author and professional ghost-writer, producing two books a year for celebrity clients. As a literary agent she represents authors of non-fiction and breathtaking memoirs.

Bio: Raashida Khan is a multi-genre writer. Her short story Your Voice, My Strength was selected as the winning entry for the 2017 Irtiqa Online Magazine (South African Muslim Women’s Short Story Competition). Raashida’s first novel, Mirror Cracked won the Minara Aziz Hassim Literary Award (Debut category, 2017), and has been serialised into a radio drama by Lotus FM. Fragrance of Forgiveness, the sequel, was launched in March 2019, and has been very well received. She has also published a poetry, anthology.
