Summit Events is proud to announce the launch of a new SkyRunning® Series in conjunction with the International SkyRunning Federation. First up is the Langeberg SkyRace® on 7 August, followed by Mont Rochelle SkyRace® on 18 September.


LANGEBERG SKYRACE®

The Langeberg SkyRace® is situated just outside the picturesque town of Robertson in the Western Cape. Robertson is two hours from Cape Town and has some of the best wineries in South Africa. The local peak Arangieskop (1696m) is the home for the race and is a local legend that towers over the area. The Race Village is situated at Die Laaitjie, a farm near the Dassieshoek Nature Reserve which is 7km from Robertson. 


MONT ROCHELLE SKYRACE®

Mont Rochelle SkyRace® starts in the famous Cape wine growing region of Franschhoek. The race is a Cape Classic and has been a firm favourite on the trail running calendar. We've switched up the route direction and the race date has moved to mid-September to align with a more wintery feel. Snow could be greeting runners as they head towards Perdekop (1575m) the highest peak on the route.


The race starts with a relentless climb from the town to Du Toits Peak (1419m), from there it's a fast flowing descent into the valley to the Aid Station at Uitkyk before another climb with runnable sections to Perdekop. From Perdekop it's time to lock in those downhill legs for a long and technical descent into the town and finish in Franschhoek.

SKYRUNNING® SERIES 2021COVID-19 CANCELLATION GUARANTEES & PROCEDURES 


With the pandemic forming part of our daily lives the Summit Events team has been able to prepare for and mitigate risk for participants in the event of a disruption. If either event cannot be hosted on the scheduled dates due to COVID-19, the race will be cancelled and all runners will receive a full refund, less the refund fee of 4.9% ex VAT.


Please ensure you make flexible travel arrangements.

If a runner wishes to cancel their entry of their own accord, Summit Events requires written confirmation on or before the following dates to [email protected]. The following refunds apply: 


LANGEBERG SKYRACE® - 7 AUGUST 2021

  • 0% - from 20 July 2021
  • No Substitutions - we do not resell entries. 
  • No deferrals allowed.


MONT ROCHELLE SKYRACE® - 18 SEPTEMBER 2021

  • 50% - until 1 August 2021
  • 25% - from 02 August 2021
  • 0% - from 01 September
  • No Substitutions - we do not resell entries. 
  • No deferrals allowed.


Please note: If you are travelling to Cape Town for either SKYRACE® please ensure your travel bookings are flexible and can be changed with minimal or no costs.
