AMPED_ZA

About

AMPED_ZA is a South African-based non-profit organisation that aims to empower, support, and create opportunities for children with lower-limb amputations. Lower-limb amputations should not keep a child out of school or from reaching their potential. We want to ensure that children in South Africa who sustain lower limb amputations remain in mainstream schooling and that they have opportunities created for them to reach their potential. Our work as an organisation involves advocacy, raising awareness about limb loss, and working with each beneficiary to assist with individual needs that they might have.

On Mandela Day, our aim to raise funds for our first beneficiary, Simthandile, a young boy who sustained a lower limb amputation due to trauma. He is currently still in school and we want to ensure that he remains in mainstream schooling in order to pursue his dream to become a pilot or scientist one day!
