ABOUT

Dave Reynolds is best known as South Africa's premier steelpan player. He also plays a 10 string harp guitar, Paraguayan harp and classical guitar. He has performed and recorded all over the world with Hugh Masekela, Andy Narell, Steve Newman, Paul Hanmer, Tony Cox, Louis Mhlanga and many others. He has received 7 SAMA nominations and won the SAMRO Composers' Award. He lives in Muizenberg and travels to far away places often.


Pops Mohamed is a South African icon. He plays kora (African harp) and kalimba (thumb piano) and other indigenous instruments. He has performed and recorded all over the world with Andreas Vollenweider, Baaba Maal, the late Sipho Gumede and many others, and has composed music for films such as The Whale Caller. His album "Ancestral Healing" was number 1 on the World Music Charts of Europe.


Dave & Pops have done over 200 concerts together. They will be launching their new album SANDANCE! THE SOUNDTRACK at Path to Health, Constantia, including a screening the award-winning documentary about the rituals and dance of the San People of Namibia and Botswana. The film-maker, Richard Wicksteed will be present for a Q & A - a chance for you to hear more about the lives of the First People.
