ABOUT

INTRODUCING JIM BEAM WELCOME SESSIONS: ALL TOGETHER FOR SA’S BEST ALTERNATIVE MUSIC

Jim Beam is bringing us together. The merging of artists, venues, and music lovers. The feeling of being a part of the SA music scene with the launch of their Jim Beam Welcome Sessions. The Welcome Sessions are all about creating connections between amazing acts, some you wouldn’t ordinarily expect to feature together. It’s a demonstration of their shared love for the music and the local scene to remind fans of the essence of live music, that welcoming spirit – something they’ve been missing over these long months.

Welcome back live music with Retro Dizzy and Orah & the Kites on the 4th at The Armchair Theatre in Observatory, Cape Town. Two performances, one night. Brought to you by the world’s number one bourbon.

Retro Dizzy is a psych rock band from Cape Town who have gone through many iterations, but frontman Richard Liefeldt and drummer Nicolaas Rossouw continue to fly the flag high and wreck rock ‘n’ roll havoc across the scene.

Orah & the Kites are an ambient melancholia indie-folk band from Cape Town, formed in 2016 by Ntokozo Mzimela (keys/vocals/guitar) with best friends Teagyn Gracey (vocals/saxophone) and Jaimie De Klerk (synth/vocals). Their soundscape is forever evolving but is rooted in an appreciation for vocal harmony and the meditative cathartics of melody repetition.
