From burlesque to Drag with a 1920's Swing bands with a twist thrown into the mix. This is Le Da Majic!

About the artists:


Sophia von Syren -

Not to be pigeonholed, with a style that's ever evolving, Miss Von Syren stays true to the essence of burlesque – the tease. Her performances range from serious to intense and sometimes lighthearted, with some surprising twists!Full time burlesque performer, Miss Von Syren started her career under the tutelage of Miss Oh! She moved to Cape Town in 2012 and blasted on to the local scene. She produced a number of successful burlesque shows under High Tease Burlesque Productions (now known as Von Syren Productions) and continues to produce high quality burlesque experiences. She also hosts burlesque workshops and is available for mentoring up and coming performers on act & character development, costuming and stage presence.


Ghost Greywind -

Forged from the dark corners from where he has watched the world develop into well...... now. Ghost Greywind uses his charm and witts , to see to the need of the Species called Women. Which he finds interesting and well can't figure out yet. This is a man your mom warned you about...


Bon Bon -

Known as the "Sweetheart of Burlesque", Bon Bon has over 10 years under her belt as a Burlesque Artiste and Teacher. Bon Bon is also Co-producer and Co-founder of Redress Burlesque, which is the first South African Burlesque show solely for Burlesque Artistes of Color. She has also recently teamed up with Betty Behave, together they have created BB productions which hosts their monthly show called VARIETEASE. Bon Bon currently holds the title as Miss Hotlicks, Queen of Choreography crowned at the Baby Grand Burlesque Festival in 2021 as well as in 2019. Bon Bon brings her high energy, powerful choreography and versatility to the stage and is not scared to take on a challenge.


Manila von Teez -

Born roughly 2011, Manila Von Teez has grown to become a formidable performer on the Drag Scene. Her list of Achievements varies from Pageantry, where she has won many titles, such as Miss Black Pride, Miss Cape Town Pride, Miss Cape Peninsula and Miss Loerie, to that as a performer. She has performed both Nationally and Internationally for numerous years. In 2016 she led a make-upTutorial for Fashionista’s at the Launch of the #FoschiniForBeauty event, Foschini’s new online store.

Manila then performed at the launch of the new#MACartofthelip Store in Braamfontein, where she shared the stage with the likes of AKA, DJ Zinhle, Fifi Cooper and Twins on Deck.

Her highlight in 2016 was entering SA’s Got Talent where she was very fortunate to be awarded the position of Runner Up, beating out over 200 000 entries, the first Drag Act to make it.


Wendy LaRosa -

Wendy joined the Cape Town scene with a big bang - winning Miss Cape Town Pride and from there on out she has MC'd and danced her way around South Africa as the Hostess with the Mostest. Her tongue-in-cheek humor will always have you rolling in the isles.

About the Band:


Andrew Ford -

Pianist and composer, Andrew Ford composes music for many genres including orchestral, contemporary, jingles and movie soundtracks as well as arranging for Big Bands. He is also a conductor who has worked with various orchestras in Cape Town including the Cape Town Symphony Orchestra. Andrew performs regularly on the Cape Town jazz circuit, with his own jazz trio or on keyboards with Virtual Jazz Reality. Andrew is a graduate of UCT’s College of Music.


Marc de Cock -

Top South African saxophonist, Marc de Kock graduated from the UCT College of Music in 2000 with an Honours degree in Jazz Performance. At age 19 he was chosen to tour with the Standard Bank National Youth Jazz Band to represent South Africa in New York. Over the years, Marc has performed with many well-known artists and bands, and has featured in theatre productions such as Cats, Grease and numerous Barnyard Theatre shows. His performances have taken him around the world to places like Thailand, Mauritius and Europe. Two years ago Marc had the honour of playing with Israel and New Breed – The U.S.A.’s number one-selling gospel group. Marc also recorded on their latest DVD. He is currently a member of the James Stewart band, James Frank and the Sticky Triggers, and the Mike Campbell Big Band. Marc performs regularly with the Amanda Tiffin Quartet and was featured on her latest album.


Darren Petersen -

Darren Petersen has established himself as a premier professional drum, percussion and sampling specialist in South Africa. He first started playing professionally at age 15, joined the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra at 16 as an ADHOC member, and secured the position of drum-kit player in the South African Youth Jazz Band. After school, he majored in Jazz Performance at the South African College of Music at The University of Cape Town. He has played with a long list of top South African artists, from Francois van Coke to Loyiso Bala, and has toured extensively around the world with big theatre productions like The Sound of Music. He has also worked as the touring and studio drummer for Karen Zoid. He was also the percussionist and samplist for The Voice (South Africa), Season 2. He holds full endorsements from ROLAND South Africa, TAMA South Africa, ZILDJIAN CYMBAL COMPANY International, PROMARK STICKS South Africa and EVANS Drum Heads South Africa.


Penelope Radsma -

Penelope is a jazz vocalist in Cape Town with a special love and appreciation for the art of light swing and bossa nova music, which delivers an elegant ambience that is perfect for a classy event. Her interest in languages has influenced her musical journey and she includes some songs in French, Spanish and Portugese in her repertoire. Penelope’s repertoire includes well known Jazz Standards, swaying bossa nova classics and originals and some light pop.


Nick Ford -

19-year-old Capetonian Nick Ford, an electric and double bassist and composer/arranger. His music fuses a uniquely South African jazz sound with hard bop-inspired ensemble playing. He has been working on the Cape Town scene with legends such as Mark Fransman and Buddy Wells, and has also been curating his own musical brand and releasing his original music.


This is fabulous event is the brainchild of Des and Dylan Swart from Tipsy Gypsy Art Bar and Matthew Van As from GingerBear Productions.


The Event will be launched In Cape Town and will the move to Knysna, Durban, Johannesburg and back to Cape Town.


This is our Launch Event which titillate the senses and give you a taste of the grand scale of Le Da Majic!
