AFRICA LAUGHS

Africa Laughs is a Comedy show that was created by renown Ugandan comedian Patrick Salvado

also known as the “Man from Ombokolo” to bring together the best of African comedy on the same

stage here in Uganda.

The idea was born after being inspired by a similar show called Nite of 1000 laughs was belonged to

a Nigerian promoter called Opa Williams. It’s from doing a couple of these shows in Kenya, Uganda

and Nigeria that Salvado got the inspiration and dream to create his own show with the blessing of

Mr. Opa Williams and the support from his fellow tip African Comedians.

On the 24th of October 2014, the first edition of Africa Laughs happened at the Imperial Royale

Hotel and to many peoples surprise considering that it was organized by a local comedian, it was a

huge success where revelers were put to the laughing sword by some of Africa’s top comedians like

Basket mouth from Nigeria, Carl Joshua Ncube from Zimbabwe, Eddie Kadi from Congo and our

very own Anne Kansiime.

Salvado has bever looked back after the success of the first show and he has gone on to do more

editions with the most recent having been the fifth edition that happened on the 14th of February

2020 just before the pandemic hit. The show was a Celebration of the 10years Salvado has been in

the industry and was also being Unveiled as a brand ambassador for Singleton and it turned out to

be one of the best shows the country had witnessed.

2022, we are at it again with yet another amazing edition dubbed Africa Laughs 6 which will be the

sixth brought to you by a Spirit that binds us, UGANDA WARAGI and will see amazing top African

Comedians like Daliso Chaponda from Malawi a British got Talent (BGT) finalist, Loyiso Gola an

award-winning top comedian from South Africa, Gordons the comedy Berlusconi from Nigeria,

Celeste Ntuli and Q-Ndube from South Africa and Zimbabwe respectively, Eric Omondi from Kenya

and ofcourse we couldn’t leave out some of our best local acts like Anne Kansiime, Madrat and

Chiko, Prince Ehma and so many more.

The show is slated to happen on the 28th of October 2022 at the Kololo Ceremonial grounds

alongside some musical performances from Deejay Cacie, Janzi Band, Azawi, Rema and Eddy Kenzo.

Gates will open at 5pm with the show going on till 11pm and tickets will be sold at

www.quicket.com with early bird tickets going for 50K Ordinary and 100K VIP while at the gate,

they’ll cost 70K and 120K respectively. An 8-seater VVIP table will go for 3M which will come with a

food platter of assorted bites, a bottle of Uganda Waragi and any of a Black label, Singleton or

Baileys plus Mixers.

VVIP guests will be treated an amazing front view setup and some great welcome cocktails courtesy

of the Uganda waragi experiential tent and they’ll have exclusive parking.

The show will be the first big Comedy show in the country after the many numerous musical shows

that have happened and we promise the safest, most organized but mostly very organized show of

the year
