ABOUT

A workshop for IEB Music teachers in the FET phase. Teachers who are teaching IEB curriculum for the first time, or teachers who would like to engage more with the curriculum and rethink their planning in preparing their students sufficiently for Grade 12. Topics of discussion will include:

· Understanding the SAG document and requirements

· Necessities versus luxuries—what to focus on

· Dividing periods into parts of topics to cover all content—daily planning

· Assessment schedules and year/term planners that work

· Ideas and strategies to teach improvisation / composition

· Working your way back from Grade 12 to Grade 10

· Questions & Answers about curriculum content & requirements
