McCoy and Gary first met in 2008 at the Grahamstown ( Now renamed Makhanda ) Arts Festival. The festival
paired them with a South African Rhythm Section Tha incl McCoy's friend Paul Hamner. It became obvious that
they shared a similar musical sensibility and sensitivity. The dog have since then enjoyed performing with each other
in their different countries (USA/SA) respectively.
Gary Wittner is coming to South Africa in June to Join McCoy Mrubata and his Quartet for workshops and will be bringing their
collaborative project to Untitled Basement for a special performance.
