Isaac @ the Rubik's World Champs 2023, South Korea

About

My name is Isaac Scheepers, and I'm a 15-year-old speedcubing enthusiast. I love solving a puzzle known as a "Rubik's Cube".

I started taking speedcubing seriously at the end of 2020 and competed in my first competition in February 2022. Since then, I have competed in several other competitions of various sizes, from a local competition to a national level and placed 6th in South Africa. I participated in the Rubik's African Championship in Cape Town a few months later. Once again, I placed 6th in AFRICA.

The Rubik's WCA WORLD Championship will be held for the first time since 2019... in South Korea. Speedcubing is not a group effort, and I will be one of only 6 fellow South Africans representing our country. As a minor, I will travel with one of my parents to guide and support me.

But I need YOUR HELP to raise enough funds actually to get there. The cost of flights to Seoul, South Korea, is approx. R27,000 per person. (Quick update: We have managed to secure flights at half the price through Cathay Pacific Airlines). That is our highest expense. Travel and accommodation around Incheon will be a further R10,000. In other words, R64,000 will get us to the championship.

I would appreciate every contribution, no matter how small, towards travel and accommodation to fulfil this CRAZY dream!
