Ever wanted to visit the beautiful Royal Natal National Park and hike the Tugela Gorge/to the base of the tallest waterfall in the world???

The time has arrived!

Royal Natal National Park is one of the most popular icon attractions of the Drakensberg Mountains. Its little wonder with the craggy peaks, countryside painted in forest greens, impressive rock formations that flush red in the afternoon light. The Central and Northern Drakensberg all show these characteristics but nowhere else will you find a feature like the Amphitheatre where the vertical rock face surrounds you in Royal Natal National Park.

It is here in Royal Natal National park that you also find one of South Africa’s highest peaks, Mont-aux-Sources, and the world’s highest waterfall, Tugela Falls.

What is included: your entry,&camping fee, communal awning/gazebo, bonfire, 2x guided hikes (Tugela Gorge and Gudu Falls).

details of the hikes:

1: Tugela Gorge: appr 13km (return trip) Grade 3

Duration: appr. 5-6 hours

2: Gudu Falls: appr 8km (return trip) Grade 3

Duration: appr. 4 hours

Please note that moderate fitness is required for both hikes.

What to bring::

for the hike: snacks, water or cold drinks, a cap, a backpack. Hiking boots with good grip (NO FLAT SHOES ALLOWED!). a hiking stick is highly recommended for these hikes. please bring one OR purchase one from us for only R200 (please order in advance - Eft or cash).

For camping: all your camping gear (tent,sleeping bag, mattress, lights and whatever else you think you may need. All your food and drinks.

Prices:

2 men tent: R200, 4 men tent: R350 for the weekend.

Sleeping bag+ mat: R100pp for the weekend

Camping stretcher: R300 for the weekend

Camping cupboard: R250 or the weekend

Please note that we need 10 confirmed bookings to go ahead with this event. If quota is not met, event will be cancelled and refund will be processed.

No refund or credit if you are a 'no show'!

If event is cancelled due to bad weather, it will be re-scheduled and new date will be given.

Grading Of Hikes:

Grade 1 Easy. Minimal fitness required

Grade 2 Not too strenuous. Moderate fitness

Grade 3 Moderate. Physical fitness advisable

Grade 4 Strenuous. Physical fitness essential

Grade 5 Very strenuous - high level of physical fitness essential
