ABOUT

Celebrating Ubuntu - Uniting Communities Through Sports

Why Ubuntu?

To brainstorm, model, inspire, activate, and implement an intentional sports ecosystem.

After a year of community-based activities using our innovative Satellite Hub system, we conceived the idea of an annual gathering to celebrate the hard work of children and stakeholders. This festival, lasting three days, will highlight themes from Sports for Conservation, Health, Education, and Tourism, while preserving Traditional African Sports and Games.

Theme for 2024: Conservation

We are excited to announce that our theme for 2024 is Conservation. Workshops and sessions will be conducted by our partners, Lukango Tree Conservancy and Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, along with their sister agencies.

Event Highlights:

Site Operations:  Sportsuganda Ltd UK and Sembeza Africa will oversee Quality Physical Education (QPE), Skipping, Robotics, and Coding. They will also engage partners to provide Traditional African Sports and Games, alongside Quidditch (Quadball), our newest game offering.

Baseline Fitness Test:  For the first time in Uganda, we will implement a Baseline Fitness Test to collect performance data for Primary and Pre-Primary age groups in our programs.

Global Volunteer Involvement:

We are thrilled with the growing number of international volunteers. This year, volunteers will join us from Kenya, Tanzania, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Uganda.

Join us in celebrating Ubuntu and fostering a vibrant sports ecosystem that inspires and unites communities!
