The Event

House of Talent East Africa (HoT) is a performance arts company focused on contemporary presentations of indigenous African expressive art forms. Founded in 2010, House of Talent will be celebrating their 8th anniversary with a weekend of a performance Concert dubbed Taste Uganda at the Uganda National Theatre.
Taste Uganda is a platform celebrating Ugandan cultural music and traditional dances with an aim of unearthing, documenting, and transferring traditional music, dances, folk tales to the public to embrace the rich diversity of Uganda’s more than 67 ethnicities.
Audience members coming can expect to experience and taste Uganda through a well crafted and choreographed dance-theatre depicting Ugandan traditional dances from all regions, a rendition of traditional classics, with entertaining and educative storytelling told through dance by talented youths. Dance is the most intrinsic means of self expression where we pour out our most sincere emotions. In Uganda and indeed Africa, dances carry all the meaning and philosophies of life. Our versatile artistes celebrate human happiness through a seemingly endless repertoire of dances that they ebulliently execute using different parts of their agile bodies. You just can’t miss them on stage!
The show will be enjoyed by both the young people and the older generation from all walks of life. We therefore invite you to attend and celebrate your unique cultural heritage with us!
Taste Uganda will take place at the Uganda National Theatre and Cultural Center on 18th, 19th, and 20th May 2018 as a pre-celebration to UNESCO- World Culture Day, 21st May and AU-Africa Day, 25th May.
