ABOUT
GRT Rox is a "home-coming" celebration that will include musical performances, stand up comedy, film screenings, soccer, rugby and netball games for over 35's, as well as daily local TV screenings.
The event will happen in Graaff-Reinet, Eastern Cape. We have artists like Roserro, OG Knoxman, Ra's Lester performing music. Jay Boogie will give us stand up comedy, DJ Fredilicious will be on the decks giving us some grooves.
Dangerous Darkies FC and African Negroes FC will play against each other. ABC Rugby Football Click will play against Hampshire Rugby Football Club. We will also have these team's netball clubs playing against each other.
We will be screening the following films;
1. African Negroes -a documentary about this Graaff-Reinet club that was a front for political activity during the fight against apartheid,
2. Sobukhwe; A Great Soul -this is a 2-part docudrama about one of the most outstanding leaders in the fight against apartheid. This man is from Graaff-Reinet and was greatly feared by the apartheid regime.
3. Red Dust -a film that was shot in Graaff-Reinet using locals as talent. The film talks about the Truth and Reconciliation Commission that was pivotal movement towards creating the "Rainbow Nation".
