ABOUT

Hide the booze, dress up and open the Champagne it is going to get a bit Gatsby, Black Horse will again throw the event everyone has waited for, our annual Christmas on the 6th of July 2019 a Grand Affair.

Dress up and get ready to hide from the authorities as Black Horse hosts the prohibition party that you will not forget, with great music, free drinks and a 4-course meal to blow you away, and then let the pearls fly as we party the night away. There are only 100 tickets available so do not miss out!!


DRESS CODE

Ladies
The furs, feather boas, and feather headbands were in full force during the 20s, so naturally, they’ve become an important part of any Great Gatsby Dress Code Style Guide. Think like Muccia Prada and draw inspiration from all colours available. Our favourite? Anything candy floss coloured and soft pastels to get us through.

Darker browns and blacks will match anything they’re teamed with, so don’t be afraid to tone down your jewel encrusted-sparklicious shift dress with a classy faux-rabbit-fur coat, or scarf. A Great Gatsby dress code means anything is suitable, so go all out.

 
Men

First, there’s the gangster or lounge suit. Whether you want to go American – like Al Capone, Bugsy Malone or Boardwalk Empire or British, like the Peaky Blinders – is up to you. Gatsby would have had all kinds of riff-raff at his Shindigs.

Secondly, the classic tuxedo. It’s a timeless look. Think James Bond – or Leonardo DiCaprio as the Great Gatsby. Nailing that 1920s look and feel is all about how you accessorise.

WHAT IS INCLUDED

Parking
Parking is secure and inside, we also have roaming guards to ensure the evening goes down safely. 
 
Music
We have some great classical musicians to open the evening with. And then to the main act, we have a Swing and Blues Band from 8 am till 11 am. 
 
Food
  • Butler style pre-snacks with a glass of Cap Classic and South African Bubbly.
  • Starters are a selection of Mojito Style Prawn Cocktail or a Waldorf Salad with your choice of White wine.
  • Palet cleanser - Morality Gin & Tonic Sorbet.
  • For the main course, we will have a selection of Veal or Glazed Ham or Vegetarian dishes and your choice of Red wine.
  • For dessert Chocolate Assiette with a shot of Pear Moonshine from Black Horse Distillery. 
  • Ending the evening with a Cigar Bar, and a selection of fine brandies and fresh bread, cheeses and olives. ?
