ABOUT

The Marimba Jam Festival serves to promote female-empowerment and nation-building through bringing the youth together across socio-economic boundaries. The event is our annual fundraiser for our NPO: Marimba Jam Cares.


The Festival will open to the public at 11am and will close at 9pm.


The entrance ticket grants access to various Panel Discussions, Educational Talks and Marimba Workshops throughout the day as well as the Evening Concert. Additionally, there will be a flea-market, food stalls, an over 18 bar area, a kiddiez zone and an Activities Tent hosting drumming, gumboot dancing, African dancing and drama improv workshops. Activities Tent workshops have limited space and are an additional R25 per spot- these tickets will be available for purchase at the Activities Tent entrance (cash and card payments accepted).


The evening concert will begin at 6:30pm with the mass-item involving 450 Marimba Jam students and an accompanying choir. The concert will end by 9pm. This concert includes performances from our Outreach Bands, Matric Bands as well as various South African acts.

**NB: Kids under 5 years are granted FREE ACCESS into the Festival. Please note additional fees may apply for certain activities.
