After the success of our first Wine, Cheese and Chicks evening, Chicks Who Trail and Run Store are bringing you Wine, Cheese, Chicks (and beer) 2.0, a super chilled night of trail chats, chicks and vino... (and yes beer). 

Is there anything more lukka than sipping on delicious wine or beer complimented with moorish cheese (and plant-based treats for the planties) whilst being entertained by some pretty epic people all the while surrounded by your mates and other like-minded women? We don't really think so. So we decided to combine all of these into one evening. You're welcome. 

This time round we are celebrating all things womXn, powerful, strong and uniquely feminine with two unbelievably strong ultra trail runners, Aussie legend Lucy Bartholomew and local trailista Naomi Brand. 

Lucy Bartholomew ran her first 100k at the age of 15, and spent the better part of her youth on podiums and racking up a pretty wild medal collection from ultra races around the globe. The Salomon athlete finished 2nd at the Super Bowl of trail running in 2018, The Western States 100miler, mere months after winning the 2017 UTCT 100k. On top of her trail accolades, she has a huge presence on Social Media, and openly chats about the highs and lows of being an elite runner, the challenges and of course, her plant-based lifestyle. With over 76k followers on Instagram, this chick is a proper influencer, an inspiration ad just down right authentic - and we want to know how she flippen does it! She's also taking on UTCT 100k again this year. 

Ultimate Direction and Ultra Running athlete Naomi Brand has done her fair share of adventures and ultra running. Last year in December after coming 3rd in the 100k UTCT, she and her partner ran around Lake Malawi (roughly 1400km in 30 days) to raise awareness for the plight of Pangolins. Earlier this year she won the 100mile Ultra Trail Drakensberg and went on to finish 15th woman in the prestigious Ultra Trail MOnt Blanc in EU. The Cape Tonian might not have a billion followers, but just like Lucy, she uses her social media as a platform to highlight the reality of being an elite runner, from the highest highs, to the lowest lows that come with juggling full time work as a vet. Not only does she wear her heart on her sleeve, but she also uses her social media to create awareness about all animals, from the endangered ones to the little critters she treats on a daily basis - sharing her knowledge in creative ways to inspire people to do there bit to help out and conserve them. She's also lining up at this year's UTCT 100k.
