Meet SweepStar Lindelwa Rangula’s daughter, Aphalele! She needs your help. At the age of five, Aphalele experienced a near-fatal fit which left her right side paralysed. “She wasn’t born like this. My daughter started to have fits when she was five years old. After the fits, she woke up from a coma and I was told the right side of her body was no longer working,” says Lindelwa. 

Everyday tasks have become nearly impossible for the 14-year-old teenager from Gugulethu. Aspiring to become a social worker, the young teenager can’t move around without the necessary assistance from the people she loves. Aphalele is unable to travel to school, the shops or the library on her own. “My daughter relies a lot on her friends and family to take her to the places where she needs to be,” says Lindelwa.
