ABOUT

Invitation to INTRODUCTION TO CODING evening course

Join the fourth industrial revolution.  What is coding? Why coding? What is all the fuss?  Learn the power of coding and how it can be applied to your everyday life
Participate in a series of hands-on evening sessions aimed at adult first-time coders.
Our approach brings real-life examples and support. It will show the power of computing when you can speak to the machine.
It starts from the beginning and allows you to code in a real terminal. The methodology is very visual based and will introduce the core concepts in an intuitive and interesting way.

This is not intimidating but an interesting journey of discovery. You will learn the basics of the coding language JavaScript JS.  You will explore areas such as variables, animation, functions, logic, debugging, looping and objects.

To add flavor, at the end of each session we will present a brief introduction to different topics in the Information World.

  • Information Theory
  • Crypto Currency
  • Network theory and how social media works
  • Finance and trading models
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Search Engine (How Google does it)

The series will be presented by Rael Lissoos - Economics lecturer, education activist, social entrepreneur, founder of MOOV
( delivery of free online university courses in hubs across SA ), coding tutor and machine learning enthusiast.

Book now. Spaces Limited. No coding experience required. Bring your own laptop or terminals will be supplied.
We will provide a memory stick and internet access with all you need (and good coffee and conversation).
The only prerequisite knowledge is that you have used your computer before. And a willingness to understand the world around you.
