Join us in our fully-equipped jeweller's workshop in Claremont to make your own silver jewellery. Learn the basic techniques of silversmithing to express your ideas and tap into your creativity in a very unique, hands-on and practical way. It's such a great feeling to be able to say you've made it yourself! Classes are small and intimate and a perfect way to get your weekly dose of creative time-out.
Techniques covered: smelting, rolling, piercing, polishing, annealing, forging, soldering, stone-setting, roll-printing, etching, cuttlefish casting and more. Use these techniques to make earrings, rings, bracelets, necklaces.. or even spoons, decorative mobiles and silver salt bowls.
Adults of all ages and all levels of experience welcome. All weekly classes are self-propelled (you design your own projects) and tuition is tailored accordingly. Selected classes will include a short mindfulness and feedback component to enhance your experience in the workshop. Booking essential: option to attend month-to-month or you can book for a full semester (four months) at a discounted rate.
We also run various once-off jewellery-making workshops on repeat throughout the semester.
Classes are facilitated by Erin Frances, artist and metalsmith with a strong creative streak and five year's teaching experience, and her team of dedicated teachers.
